Why Athens Gulet Charter?

When planning an Athens gulet charter, Blue More Yachting works with you to select the most suitable gulet for this exceptional route stretching from the heart of the ancient world to the historic islands of the Saronic Gulf. Departing from Alimos Marina, Marina Zea or Flisvos Marina, you can cruise to Greece’s most characterful islands aboard a handcrafted wooden yacht.

The gulet is the yacht type that truly shines in the calm waters of the Saronic Gulf. The wooden texture shaped by Turkish master craftsmen, expansive teak deck spaces and traditional lines reflect the spirit of the Mediterranean. Its structure allows easy access to shallow bays, enabling you to anchor in secluded spots away from the crowds in the hidden coves of Hydra and Spetses.

A one-week itinerary typically begins with views of the ancient Temple of Aphaia on Aegina. Without rushing, you take in the scenery and enjoy a swim break in the turquoise waters of Moni Island. Time travel through the car-free streets of Hydra and dinner in the lemon-scented harbour of Poros are all part of the gulet experience.

The table set on the spacious Aft Deck brings the flavours of Greek cuisine to your dining experience. Your Chef prepares fresh fish and Aegean herb dishes sourced from local markets. Stretching out on the Foredeck cushions and watching the star-filled Saronic sky is an essential part of the gulet experience.

With our Captains who know the region intimately and our five years of experience in Athens gulet charter, let’s create a serene programme together, perfectly matched to your family’s pace.

Season Guide

The season runs from April through the end of October. May–June and September–October are the most ideal periods; mild weather, calm and sheltered waters of the Saronic Gulf, and quieter bays. July–August is the meltemi season; cruising in the Saronic remains comfortable by gulet thanks to the protected gulf. Popular islands become busier, so we recommend booking 4–6 months in advance for this period.

The season runs from April to October. The most ideal periods are May–June and September; mild weather and a calm Saronic Gulf. July–August is popular but busy, so early booking is recommended.

The classic route continues with pistachio tasting in Aegina, car-free streets in Hydra, and lemon groves in Poros. Our Captain optimizes the route daily according to weather and your family’s pace. We move forward unhurriedly, fully absorbing the scenery.

The Saronic islands of Aegina, Hydra, Poros and Spetses are the classics of gulet routes. Epidaurus on the Peloponnese coast is also reachable. Crossing to the Cyclades by gulet is possible, but the distance is long.

Gulets primarily cruise by engine, but sails can be set when wind conditions are favourable. Cruising speed is slower compared to Motor Yachts, allowing you to absorb the scenery and travel without haste. This is the essence of the Blue Voyage.

The wide deck areas of gulets create generous living spaces for large families and groups of friends. Thanks to the Aft Deck and Foredeck cushions, everyone can comfortably dine, sunbathe and socialise.

Gulets are very suitable for families. Wide decks, secure railings and an experienced Crew prioritise safety. The sheltered waters and shallow beaches of the Saronic Gulf are family-friendly.

The Blue Voyage is a slow-paced sea holiday tradition that began in the 1950s with Cevat Şakir, sailing through turquoise bays aboard gulets. Moving without haste, immersed in nature, and discovering each bay defines the spirit of this journey.

For July–August, 4–6 months in advance is ideal. For May–June and September, 2–3 months is usually sufficient. With early booking, we offer a wider selection of gulets and secure your preferred dates.

The gulet, Crew service and basic equipment are included; fuel and food & beverages are calculated separately. We clarify everything from the start—our aim is not to welcome you just once, but every year, which is why transparency is our priority.
