At Bedri Rahmi Bay, you can see the fish motif painted on the rock by the artist, while Tersane Island contains remains of an earlier settlement. Ölüdeniz and Butterfly Valley
An important planning detail for this route is that vessels are not permitted to enter Ölüdeniz Lagoon. A visit is therefore planned around suitable access points outside the lagoon. Butterfly Valley is enclosed by steep cliffs rising to approximately 350 metres and is home to more than 80 butterfly species. The Jersey tiger moth, one of the valley’s best-known species, is more commonly seen around mid-July; however, wildlife sightings depend on the season and prevailing conditions. If sea and landing conditions allow, you can go ashore and follow the path towards the waterfall before returning to the bay for a swim.
Gemiler Island and Kabak
Gemiler Island offers more than a swimming stop. Once ashore, you can walk among the remains of churches, tombs, residences and cisterns dating from the fifth to seventh centuries CE. Some remains close to the shore may also be visible beneath the water. If the itinerary continues towards Kabak, more time can be reserved for swimming and relaxing at anchor after the historical visit.
Longer Lycian Coast Itineraries
If the charter duration and the selected yacht’s cruising capabilities allow, the itinerary may extend beyond Kabak towards Kalkan and Kaş. This involves additional cruising time and should not be treated simply as an extension of a shorter Fethiye itinerary. Patara Ancient City and Kayaköy are land-based visits rather than anchorage stops and may require onward transport by road.

The period from May to October can be considered for a Fethiye yacht charter. May and October generally bring cooler evenings and more variable weather, while June and September offer summer conditions outside the peak-demand months of July and August. When selecting your dates, yacht availability, the intended itinerary and marina and anchorage availability should be considered alongside the weather forecast.
